Grain Monitor’s Reports Released: 2009-10 Annual Report, 2010-11 Q1 and Q2 Reports

Today, the Annual Report of the Grain Monitor for the 2009-2010 crop year was released by the Grain Monitor on behalf of the Minister of Transport and the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Foods Canada.

This year’s report is being released much later than usual as a consequence of the spring election and the subsequent changing of ministers.

Also released today are the first and second quarter reports for the 2010-2011 crop year, delayed by the late release of the annual report.

It should be noted that this marks the tenth year that the Grain Monitoring Program has been in existence. We felt it was time to review the format and structure of the reports and to make some changes, including the addition of some new measures. We have also begun posting the data tables in an Excel format in order to make retrieval and handling of the statistics easier for users. We hope you find the new layout and measures beneficial.

As always, we welcome all input from industry stakeholders. Should you have any questions or comments, please feel free to call or contact us.
